‘Shiptober: Will ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 8 end with happy times for Deeks, Kensi?
Mrs. Carter: Will Deeks and Kensi have a win soon on “NCIS: Los Angeles“?
For the time being, one thing feels relatively clear when it comes to the relationship between the two of them: They don’t seem altogether close to a happy ending. As we explained in our most-recent episode review, Kensi’s condition in the ICU is not improving just yet, and it remains to be seen if she is going to be getting better soon. We know that Deeks is ready to propose, and we even want to assume that she will say yes and put the ring on her finger as soon as she can. It just remains to be seen if we’re going to be getting that moment soon.
Beyond that for this ‘Shiptober article, there is one further question that we want to ask for this season: Are we going to be seeing these two get married this season? We have to assume the engagement will happen, so from there, it could be all about timing and figuring out if this season is the right time to make that next move. As with many other decisions you make in TV, there are advantages and disadvantages that are worthy of exploration.
The case for the wedding – If you feel as though everyone has waited for long enough for this moment to happen, why not just let it? It’s the culmination of a journey, a celebration for fans, and most importantly, it’s not the ending. We know some writers want to keep couples from saying their vows on a show as long as they can, but there could be many more interesting developments for these two even after they are husband and wife. Having this wedding take place before the end of the season opens things up to greater possibilities, given that otherwise, you are stuck in a waiting game.
The case against it … at least for now – The ratings for season 8 so far are solid, and there is little reason to think there will be no season 9 or even season 10. Therefore, why hurry things along? If you have an idea to make the wedding really great now, go for it; otherwise, give it a little time and wait to come up with something you are truly proud of. Given that many viewers will probably be happy enough just to see Kensi and Deeks engaged, there may be less of a hurry at that point.
