‘The Last Ship’ season 3, episode 7 preview: The threats only get worse
At the start of “The Last Ship” Sunday night, of course you wanted to have some hope that maybe things could calm down and Chandler would save the day in the battle against Takehaya … but it’s really never that easy, is it? In this world, there are almost always complications, and it doesn’t quite matter if you are talking about someone on the front lines or someone behind closed doors.
Ultimately, you’re going to seeing much of that play out further during “In the Dark,” the new episode airing on TNT next week. As the official synopsis below makes it clear, there will be some new and rather-surprising threats coming out for some of these characters … especially following a reveal back in the United States:
“The Nathan James must evade an overwhelming threat. A revelation in St. Louis puts President Michener in a terrible position.”
One of the themes of this show in many ways is “going from bad to worse,” and it is easy to envision now many situations where this can happen with this group of characters. For Chandler, much of what his team has tackled so far this year has been as a consequence of being strangers in a strange land, not having Rachel Scott around, and having the incorrect assumptions of those around them. Part of what makes this so strong is that these characters are human, and not just superhumans who can somehow think and anticipate faster than anyone around them.
