‘America’s Got Talent’ video: Nick Cannon ‘breaks the rules’ with Golden Buzzer
The next few days are a chance to get out and celebrate America courtesy of the 4th of July, and on the other side of that, you’re going to get a chance to celebrate “America’s Got Talent” once more! There’s another new episode of the show airing on Tuesday, and judging from the preview below, Nick Cannon may be responsible for the most shocking Golden Buzzer moment yet.
The sneak peek below doesn’t really give you a whole lot of insight into precisely who this contestant is, but you can catch a blurry glimpse of them in here before Nick claims he’s “gonna break the rules” by running down and pressing it. Judging from Simon Cowell’s reaction in the video thumbnail below, he’s more than happy with the choice.
Now, is this really breaking the rules? Well, Cannon has never had the Golden Buzzer power before, but on the British version of the show hosts Ant and Dec have been able to press the button for the past couple of years. We’re all for Nick permanently getting a golden buzzer press each season, given that it gets him more involved in the competition than he would otherwise be. Since he’s not criticizing anyone or trying to influence public vote, we don’t have any issue with it being somewhat outside of his role as host.
More than anything else, this is a show that relies upon entertaining moments to get people watching. If Nick provides that courtesy of his golden buzzer, we have a feeling that both NBC and the show producers will be more than happy in the end.
