‘Murder in the First’ season 3 video: When will Taye Diggs, cast return to TNT?

Have you been wondering about the return of “Murder in the First” to TNT? Well, rest assured that we’ve excited to say we’re less than a month away from the show returning to the network! The premiere date for the show is Sunday, June 19 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, and you can see one of the first promos for the San Francisco-set series below.

For those of you looking for many specific story details, you’re not going to get many of them from the promo. Taye Diggs and Kathleen Robertson star as homicide detectives Terry English and Hildy Mulligan, and the show itself is a nice throwback with a little bit of a modern sensibility, as well. If you haven’t watched the show before, this may be the perfect promo since it does summarize in a rather short span of time what you can expect to see.

In terms of placement, we do like what the plan continues to be for TNT. Placing the show after “The Last Ship” on Sunday nights is a way to bring in one of the largest audiences possibility, and hopefully the storylines this time around are going to be more gripping than ever before. In looking at the lineup this summer across the board (trust us, we’ve been looking at it almost all morning), there are some holes in the market for some great crime dramas … beyond of course Monday night, where TNT has both “Major Crimes” and “Rizzoli & Isles.”
