‘Fear the Walking Dead’ season 2, episode 7 (midseason finale) preview: Will ‘Shiva’ bring world to new heights?

“Fear the Walking Dead” spent a great deal of time in season 2 at sea, but on Sunday night, we saw a very different sort of story for the show as we drifted more to land, explored more of Strand’s relationship with Tom, and also saw some significant tension over Chris’ recent behavior.

Next week’s new episode is entitled “Shiva,” and as it turns out, this is probably not much of a reference to the famed summon from the “Final Fantasy” series. Unfortunately, it’s still rather difficult to know what it means in this context. Luckily, the official TV Guide synopsis below offers a few details on what could be a rather dangerous hour of TV:

“The family faces their greatest test yet. Meanwhile, Nick, Madison, Travis and others go to great lengths to keep each other close.”

The promo below gives you a little bit more of a sense as to the chaos that is coming, as it’s very clear now that Celia is not exactly who she professes to be in some ways. These characters are starting to become infected presumably in very different ways; we’re seeing it get to Chris, and that could just be the beginning of everything. This is the last episode of the show presumably until the fall, and with that in mind, we have to expect that there are a few jaws that are going to drop by the time we get to the end. Enjoy the promo, and prepare for anything and everything to come crashing down.
