‘Game of Thrones’ season 6, episode 3 preview: ‘Oathbreaker’ and Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams stories
Remember “Oathkeeper”? That was the title of a key episode of “Game of Thrones” season 4, one where Brienne chose to name a sword with that name after being given a quest to find Sansa Stark by Jaime Lannister. It’s a quest that came full-circle earlier this season, when Sophie Turner’s character decided to accept the service of Brienne after determining that she and Theon did need someone to trust while escaping the clutches of Ramsey Bolton.
Is Brienne going to play a big role next week on the HBO show? We have to think that the title “Oathbreaker” is no coincidence, but the character (played by Gwendoline Christie) is not mentioned in the official synopsis. Instead, it looks like Dany and Arya could have some significant stories that play out:
“Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) meets her future. Bran meets the past. Tommen confronts the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce). Arya (Maisie Williams) trains to be No One. Varys (Conleth Hill) finds an answer. Ramsay gets a gift.”
Let’s just hope that “Oathbreaker” is not a sign of terrible things to come for Brienne, given that show fans have really been through enough pain with some of these characters to last a lifetime. There is not too much further insight in the promo for this episode, save that it features more training, more violence, and of course plenty of intrigue. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but we’ll have some further news very soon.

I think the “Oathbreaker” name, comes from the Baratheon-Stark vs Targaryen fight, and the Kingslayer time, as Bran is seeing Ned in the past

I think that may be in part true — I’m looking personally just from the parallels with “Oathkeeper.”

“There is not too much further insight in the promo for this episode…” – Are you kidding me? What about the last scene with new characters???
