‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3, episode 17 preview: What lies ahead in ‘Paradise Lost’
“Agents of SHIELD” on Tuesday night gave us a heck of a big story for Melinda May, as we started to see more of what could become of her and Andrew. Also, we had one of our favorite lines from Coulson in three seasons as he started to talk more and more about how the “day got weirder” when Grant Ward’s name was brought up.
Next week, we have an episode with a rather excellent title in “Paradise Lost,” and based on the synopsis below, it certainly appears as though we are going to see Gideon Malick in the spotlight quite like never before:
“S.H.I.E.L.D. hunts for information on their dangerous new enemy, and a shameful secret from Malick’s past is exposed, threatening to destroy his Hydra legacy.”
The promo below does a great job of setting up what, beyond Malick, will be the real story of the hour: Grant Ward, or at least what he has become. The monster is now much clearer to Coulson, and he tries to debrief the team on precisely the sort of danger that they are facing moving forward. The problem here is that this creature is someone who still is largely unknown to the team, and they’re going to have to take some time to figure out their next move. Unfortunately, there may not be a whole lot of time out there for them. Can anyone else how there stress just how difficult this could end up being? Not even the happiness of Fitz and Simmons can stop us from being afraid.
