‘Longmire’ season 5: When does filming begin?

LongmireFor those of you wanting at least some of the first little bit of information regarding the production of “Longmire” season 5, we’re pleased to have at least some sort of further information on the subject.

In a post on Twitter recently, Lou Diamond Phillips (Henry) revealed that the fifth season will kick off production on March 23. That’s just over two weeks away! Filming for the series will take place in the months that follow presumably in the New Mexico area (haven’t heard of any major production changes), and then the show should premiere on Netflix at some point in September. Given the affection that is out there for the show already, we don’t see the need for any party involved to change much.

In terms of what the story will be for the upcoming episodes, our presumption is that we will start off for season 5 almost immediately where we left off, with a mystery attacker coming into Walt Longmire’s home right in the middle of a romantic moment between him and Dr. Monahan. The show already revealed a list of the likely suspects, and we’re not entirely sure just yet if one of them stands out more so than any of the others. We’ve already documented a pretty lengthy list of theories on the subject, and you can check that out over here.

As to when Netflix will likely release a new trailer for season 5, our answer to that is fairly simple: Think at some point in the summer. There’s no incentive to do that before then, but they want to get a trailer out in time for people to be hyped.
