‘Shameless’ season 6, episode 6 preview: New drama ahead for Emmy Rossum, cast

Next week, “Shameless” is going to return to Showtime for an episode that (thankfully) is not going to have to worry about having to air against the Super Bowl. With that being said, there is still plenty for some of these characters to worry about with what is going to be a very stressful hour of TV moving forward for many of them.

If you look at the TV Guide synopsis below, you can get a few more details about just what sort of trouble the characters are going to come into play:

“Ian’s relationship with Caleb gets more serious. Meanwhile, Lip is called to appear before a faculty disciplinary committee, but Helene accepts the blame for the scandal and tells the committee she will no longer teach or see Lip.”

Meanwhile, the promo below just makes it clear what trouble Helene and Lip are going to be in. He is going to admit to the committee that he loves her, and we’ve already heard from her that this relationship evolved into so much more than she ever thought that it would be … but even with that being said, we still don’t see a bright future for these two. Given that the show has already been renewed for a seventh season and Sasha Alexander does have another job on “Rizzoli & Isles” for even one more season, we feel like the writers could have other story for Lip.

As for Fiona, we anticipate Emmy Rossum will have a variety of great moments ahead as she tries to get help from Gus … and fails.
