‘Chicago Fire’ season 4, episode 14 preview: Can Taylor Kinney’s Severide help Chili?

Chicago Fire -At the end of Tuesday night’s new episode of “Chicago Fire,” we had a reconciliation of sorts in the Brett – Chili relationship. The latter acknowledged that she was wrong to try to get Brett switched to another post, and the two are probably bonded after being in such a terrible near-death situation.

Moving into next week, though, that doesn’t quite mean that Chili is out of the woods yet. This is not a show where people are magically “cured” of something like alcoholism thanks to going through one harrowing event. Many things take time to change and adapt, but unfortunately the synopsis indicates that Chili is not going to be exactly ready to take some of the help that he is offered:

“Lt. Severide (Taylor Kinney) confronts Chili (Dora Madison) about his suspicions regarding her erratic behavior, but she does not take too kindly to his intentions. Meanwhile, members of the firehouse rally around Lt. Casey (Jesse Spencer), who they believe is a perfect candidate to run for the position as Alderman and Jimmy (Steven R. McQueen) faces off against Antonio (Jon Seda) in the first annual “Battle of the Badges” boxing match.”

The boxing match will probably make for a great set piece on the show, and hopefully a bit of lightness in the midst of some dark times for these characters. Yes, we do realize that it is odd to say that when we’re talking about two people pummeling the you-know-what out of each other.
