‘Arrow’ season 4: Stephen Amell on that Oliver – Felicity flash-forward

Arrow -At the end of “Arrow‘s” midseason premiere on Wednesday, we truly had a case of good news / bad news for all fans of Oliver and Felicity. Let’s start here with the good news: Felicity is not dead! She was revealed to not be the person in the grave at the end of the episode; however, at the same time we also learned that she and Oliver are no longer engaged. That is the bad news, and there is no word just yet on what happens to get us to this point.

While of course star Stephen Amell was pretty mum on what could have caused a split during his appearance at the Heroes & Villains Fan Fest on New Jersey on Sunday, he said (per ComicBook.com) that he has a pretty clear feeling as to what probably happened to cause things to fall apart:

“The fact is, Felicity is not wearing her ring in that flash forward scene, and that was not a mistake … Spoiler alert, I probably mess it up.”

One other thing that Amell teased at the event was that he had wanted Oliver to omit the truth about his son to Felicity more so than lie straight-up about it, which is something that the writers wanted to include to set up further drama a little bit later this season. He called the situation for his character “unfortunate,” and at the moment we would have to guess that this is the lie that could end up unraveling his relationship in the future.
