‘Switched at Birth’ season 5 starts filming!

While there may not be an official premiere date just yet for “Switched at Birth” season 5, we do come bearing some very good news: Production is now underway!

In a most on Twitter from show creator Lizzy Weiss, you can see the entire cast and crew together filming some new episodes for the now-Freeform series. It’s great news to see the group again, even though we do know that it will still be some time before we get a chance to see them all again on the screen once more.

When we do, we know that there will be plenty for the show to take on, especially given that the fourth season ended with a pretty big time jump (or at least not compared to “Pretty Little Liars”) that had Bay and Daphne over in China. It’s not entirely clear how up to date they are with the lives of many other people in the cast at this point, and what exactly they will be coming back to when they do. Meanwhile, Toby and Lily are going to be continuing to raise a young child, and we’re excited to see what is going to be happening next in the world of Emmett. The show has a chance to tell a variety of interesting stories; now that the characters are all adults, that opens things up in a way that was not possible during some of the earlier seasons.

Trust us when we say that we’re going to have so much to report when it comes to the season as we get closer to an eventual premiere. Stay tuned!
