‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: First look at winter finale ‘Dark Waters’
The holiday season is coming to “Arrow,” but by the end of the show’s upcoming December 9 episode “Dark Waters” (which is serving as the winter finale), it is fair to say that not everyone is going to be having a particularly merry time. The synopsis below teases that Damien Darhk may make his boldest move to date against the team, and may make it against Oliver Queen more so than the Green Arrow:
“After the city is attacked again, Oliver (Stephen Amell) makes a bold move against HIVE. Malcolm (John Barrowman) checks in on Thea (Willa Holland) and leaves her with a warning. Things take a horrible turn when Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) retaliates in a brutal manner at Oliver’s mayoral holiday party.”
It’s interesting in a way here that Damien remains such a compelling villain without even knowing the connection between Oliver and the Green Arrow. He’s just so maniacal and power-hungry that he is willing to do anything that he can in an effort to get what he wants.
We hate to say it, but it also feels about the right time for this character to have a win. It’s not that we want to see him succeed in the end, but we’ve witnessed over time now him really have most of his plans foiled. There needs to be a further reason for the team to fear him, especially now that they have realized one of his greatest weaknesses: Thea. So long as they bring her around him. There is a good chance that is powers are not going to be anywhere near as effective.
