‘NCIS’ season 13 spoilers: Abby’s (other) brother will appear on ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ crossover
“NCIS” season 13 has made a great effort to tell a variety of different character stories as of late, and for Abby Sciuto’s little brother, the show has went with someone already familiar to the network as a whole.
As reported via TVLine, Tyler Ritter (“The McCarthys”) has signed up to appear in the role of Luca Sciuto, her brother through adoption. He will first appear in an upcoming episode of the flagship show, and then will also appear on “NCIS: New Orleans” after that. Take this as further confirmation that there will be a crossover between the two shows (which really shouldn’t be much of a surprise to begin with).
In a statement, Gary Glasberg (who executive produces both shows) said the following:
“Occasionally you find the perfect actor for a role, and casting Tyler Ritter as Abby’s brother couldn’t be better … Tyler embodies everything we were looking for in Luca Sciuto. He’s warm, caring, funny, eccentric, offbeat and inquisitive. We are thrilled to have him for this very special crossover episode of NCIS and NCIS: New Orleans.”
Personally, we’re not familiar enough with Ritter’s work to know whether or not he is a great cast. With that being said, we’re excited to see more of Abby’s past. We already know that she has another brother, who we first met a few years ago. We anticipate this story to air at some point early next year, given that the show already has many episodes planned for this fall, including a Thanksgiving story that will send Bishop back to Oklahoma, where we will meet her mother.
