‘The Walking Dead’ season 6: Did aftermath of Glenn shocker help ratings?

GlennIs there a direct correlation between the specific events on a show like “The Walking Dead” and how often people watch? This is something that we were very curious to discover with the Sunday cable ratings coming out today.

In the end, the shocker related to Glenn (more specifically, its aftermath) helped the show stay pretty steady despite airing against the final game of the World Series and a huge NFL regular-season game. The show drew 13.3 million viewers and also a 6.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic. These are very impressive figures for the show, especially since there is a tendency for it to drop in the middle of the season.

What we are especially curious about now is what will win out moving into Sunday night’s new episode. We’re going back into Alexandria, and with that, there is a chance that some more information regarding Glenn will be clear. Will the interest in that be enough to offset some of the disdain that some fans had for the Morgan episode on Sunday? We enjoyed it, but we know that some felt like it was poor timing to move away from Alexandria at a time when everyone is looking for answers there.

Our prediction for now is that the show will stay relatively steady once more. There may be a few viewers who decide to put the show on the DVR, but it will probably gain some back who may have recorded this past week in favor of football or baseball.
