‘Dancing with the Stars 21’ spoilers: A twist for Andy Grammer, Alexa PenaVega, cast

Why does “Dancing with the Stars” decide to completely change things up on a pretty regular basis? There are some twists here and there that work, but at the same time, we don’t really think for the most part that the show really needs it. This is a series that, at least for the most part, just shines when they give the Stars and their pro partners a chance to perform.

So when looking at the twist in particular for Monday night’s new episode, what you are going to see is the likes of Nick Carter, Alexa PenaVega, Andy Grammer, and the rest of the celebrity cast all perform routines that reflect influential people who have helped them along the course of their lives. The judges will score these routines, and the one with the best overall score will be given immunity from elimination and also will receive three extra points (not sure why that matters if you’re immune).

From there, the remaining six couples are going to be facing off in a series of head-to-head dance battles that are going to be voted on in real-time by both America and the judges. The couple that wins the dance battle will get two extra points to go along with the one that they got in the first routine. Sound complicated? Basically, it’s a lot of work for a few extra points.

In the end, we do think that this is a very good theme for the most part when it comes to the routines; as for the twist, we’re not so sure.
