‘Outlander’ season 2 spoilers: You see will Lord John Grey (but no spin-off plans yet)

Outlander -For those of you who are faithful Diana Gabaldon readers, we imagine that you are probably familiar already with the character of Lord John Grey and then some. He is an integral part of the “Outlander” series, and his mysteries have even went on to inspire a spin-off from the books that are so well-known.

Here’s the good news and bad news when it comes to the character in the Starz universe. What is positive is that you are going to see the character in the second season, which is heavily inspired by the Gabaldon book Dragonfly in Amber. However, the bad news is that there are not exactly any plans for there to be a spin-off show to mirror the books just yet. Speaking to Digital Spy, showrunner Ronald D. Moore confirms that it is at least something that has been discussed:

“It’s in the back of our minds as a potential thing … But right now our minds are pretty firmly set on just delivering the second season. We’ll see what happens down the line on Lord Grey.”

The commercial success for the series is inevitably going to inspire what more Starz wants to do with Gabaldon and her work, and right now, the future is bright. The show generates more publicity than anything else on the schedule, and while there has been no news regarding a season 3 renewal, we imagine that it is for the time being a formality. It and “Power” are the current cornerstones that the network is relying on to build the future.
