‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: Are we set to see Hook go dark?

Through most of “Once Upon a Time” season 5, we have spent a good deal of time trying to figure out whether or not some characters are good or evil. We’ve seen it repeatedly with Rumpelstiltskin, and over the course of the upcoming season, we are prepared to see the Dark Swan take center stage in a rather big way.

But what about Captain Hook? Colin O’Donoghue’s character has been a huge part of the show since season 2, and over time we have started to see him show at least somewhat that there is a little bit of good in his heart. He’s come to be a man who loves and cares for Emma, and having her as a part of his life has done him so much good that he feels no need to go back to being a revenge-seeking pirate.

However, could the Dark Swan twist eventually change things a little bit down the road, and start to bring out more of “evil Hook”? It is understandable that you would have some of these concerns, but speaking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Edward Kitsis does his part to insist that things are not exactly going to be the case:

“I would say that right now his main focus is on saving the woman he loves. The one thing about Hook is he spent 300 years trying to kill Rumple, so he doesn’t give up so easy, he doesn’t change himself that easy.”
