‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3 spoilers: Details on new characters and much more

ShieldTypically, the folks over at ABC and Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” tend to be a little bit coy when it comes to releasing some of the information about their upcoming seasons. They rely on the action and the element of surprise, so to a certain extent we do understand.

Therefore, we have to admit that we are somewhat surprised that ABC would release some sort of official synopsis for at least the early portion of the season, especially still more than a month away from its September premiere. What is going to be coming up for the upcoming third season of the show? Just take a look below, per SpoilerTV, for some details on some new characters along with the basic story:

“… New faces, both friend and foe, will join the series, including the no-nonsense, highly-skilled and somewhat mysterious leader (Constance Zimmer) of the ATCU (Advanced Threat Containment Unit), her intimidating partner, Banks (Andrew Howard), Lash (Matthew Willig), a monstrous Inhuman whose loyalties remain ambiguous, and new Inhuman Joey (Juan Pablo Raba), who is struggling to harness his newfound abilities, among other surprising characters.

“Coulson, with the help of Daisy and Mack (Henry Simmons), will work to slowly assemble a team that is stronger than ever before, combining the highly skilled Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with powered individuals in the hopes of protecting the innocent in a world where the balance of power is ever-shifting, and new dangers are constantly emerging.”

Basically, the idea of the Secret Warriors coming sounds awesome, as does getting to see more of Ward in a higher position of power and also whatever awaits Simmons following the season 2 finale. This is how the synopsis gets away with being revealing: It gives you some information, but still leaves just enough to keep you guessing.
