‘Girl Meets World’ season 2, episode 14 reaction: ‘Girl Meets Creativity’ handles arts education well

Girl Meets World -It is funny that sometimes episodes of “Girl Meets World” are as easy to telegraph as they are, but we would feel rather silly at the moment if we were to seriously complain about it. “Girl Meets Creativity” was not one of the show’s funnier episodes, and it was also not one that really revealed too much in terms of the overarching story for these characters. Yet, it still did a pretty good job at accomplishing what it set out to do.

The reason we like the show’s handling of the whole arts-education issue is that it did not just tie a bow on the issue and give the students everything that they wanted just because they put on a nice presentation about saving art, theater, and other valuable subjects in front of the school board. Instead, what they did was give the students an assurance that they would try to save them, but ultimately an attempt is really far from a guarantee.

For now, though, Riley, Maya, Lucas, and Farkle can feel like they made a difference, and this in particular a great episode for Maya. Despite her coming across as confident, she usually is anything but and there were glimpses of that during this episode. However, she was reminded through conversations with Lucas and Riley that this is something that she should still continue fighting for … and she wants to continue doing just that.

Ultimately, this was an entertaining enough half-hour, though we cannot imagine any longtime fan of “Boy Meets World” finding too much that appealed to them emotionally.
