MTV’s ‘Scream’ episode 9 preview: Can Branson really be guilty?
Tuesday night’s episode of “Scream” introduced us to a variety of major revelations, with one of the biggest ones being simply that Emma has an older sister.
Who is it? One of our prevailing theories right now is Piper, mostly because our prevailing theory for pretty much everything at the moment is that Piper is somehow both the sister and involved in the killings. She has been high on our suspect list since the beginning, and it seems about right for the show to determine that podcasters can also be killers. Maybe this theory is a little on the obvious side (many have it), but they are really going to have to do a lot of work to make us buy something that is a little bit more on the extreme side.
So is Seth Branson a.k.a. Seth Palmer really the one behind all of this? For now, we’re starting to think that this is simply too obvious a route for the show to take. It would make sense in many ways that he was the guilty party, but there are still two episodes left and it would be a rather lame end to the story if we already knew the truth about what happened. Sometimes, it is definitely best to have a little bit of extra ambiguity thrown in there.
We know that the show is going to give us at least some answers in the upcoming finale. Is it possible that they will hold something back until we get to the second season? Sure, but they could easily institute a new killer for that if they wanted to.
