ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 spoilers: Notorious villain returning for premiere

CastleJust when you thought that it was safe to not think about Senator Bracken appearing on “Castle” again, news like what we’ve got today manages to come crawling in.

As first reporting by TVLine, Jack Coleman is poised to report back to the show for at least the show’s September 21 premiere entitled “XY,” and given that the first two episodes are tied together, we imagine that it may be possible he shows up in the one that follows or is at least mentioned. New co-showrunner Terence Paul Winter claims that Bracken’s return will be “in a surprising way,” which makes sense given that the last we saw the guy back in season 6’s “Veritas,” Beckett finally got justice for what happened to her mother.

As intrigued as we are by this, there is still little question that there is a ton of mystery still out there in regards to the “Castle” premiere. Still, we do not quite know whether Beckett chooses to remain with the NYPD or pursue politics, just as we also do not know what the role of newcomer Hayley (Toks Olagundoye) is going to be on the show. The entire cast is now hard at work filming, and there will be at least 21 episodes after this one to figure all of this out.

The presence of Coleman is made even more surprising to us at the moment mostly because of his role elsewhere on “Heroes: Reborn,” where he is one of the show’s stars as Noah Bennett / HRG. Thanks to this show, we imagine that he will not have too much time to make other appearances.
