‘Suits’ season 5 spoilers: When is Amy Acker returning?

“Suits” did a pretty tremendous job when it comes to keeping their casting of Amy Acker a surprise. Very few new about it before the episode was close to airing, but then the “Person of Interest” star showed up and was almost immediately a force of nature at Pearson Specter Litt as Louis Litt’s sister Esther. Not only that, but she also quickly became a potential love interest for Gabriel Macht’s character of Harvey Specter. Who doesn’t love a little bit of romance mixed in there from time to time?

We now know for sure that we are going to see Acker back on the show come the August 5 episode entitled “Hitting Home,” and the first photo of her can be seen above! Also, the synopsis below makes it clear just why she is back, and of course how Louis manages to make things much more complicated than they really need to be (that is kind of the way in which he operates the majority of the time):

“At Jessica’s behest, Mike teams up with Jack Soloff to co-counsel a case, and despite their history the two come to a surprising understanding. Meanwhile, Esther Litt returns to P.S.L. to solve a problem discreetly, but Louis rarely handles anything quietly – especially when it comes to family. And Donna and Harvey try to get their friendship back to normal, but Harvey has a hard time stomaching Donna’s ‘friendly advice.'”

Given what we have started to learn about Harvey and his feelings towards Donna, it is actually her we hope to see some sparks around in the near future, even if we love Acker and we would love to see her around. Unfortunately, she is a little like Abigail Spencer (Scottie) on the show in that thanks to her other commitments, there is really only so much that we can see her around.
