‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Twilight’ alum Nikki Reed to be Betsy Ross

Apparently, the role of Betsy Ross on the upcoming third season of “Sleepy Hollow” is going to be a little bit bigger than all of us thought. How else do you explain some of the casting news that we have right now?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nikki Reed of “Twilight” fame is going to be a new series regular as the woman supposedly responsible for the American flag as we know it. We’ve known for a while that the show’s adaptation of Ross is meant to be a little more of the kick-butt-and-take-names variety. Reed seems to be the perfect casting on the surface for this part, given that she’s capable of doing action and her resume fits in well with the other characters on the show.

We know that there are some out there worried potentially about her taking some time away from Ichabod Crane and Abbie, but for the time being the only thing we can say in response to this is not to worry too much. The series definitely knows some of what viewers did not like about the first season, and at the top of that list were some of what we ended up seeing with Katrina and all of the Crane family drama.

The major thing that will be interesting here about the addition of Betsy is that she does have some sort of past history with Ichabod, so that cannot be ignored. Given that she is a regular, we’d be shocked to learn that she spends all of her time in the past. More than likely, she finds a way to get to the present day.
