‘Outlander’ season 2: Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan heading to San Diego Comic-Con!

OutlanderHoping to see more of “Outlander” this year at San Diego Comic-Con? Then rejoice! The series is going to be for the second year in a row with a panel, and this time there will be quite a bit to discuss now that season 1 is entirely in the can, and the cast and crew are hard at work on making an excellent second season.

Here is what we can tell you at the moment per Deadline. The panel for the show will be held late on Saturday, July 11 in the famous Ballroom 20, and cast members Sam Heughan (Jamie) and Caitriona Balfe (Claire) will be in attendance. Not only that, but so will executive producer Ronald D. Moore and also Diana Gabaldon, whose masterful book series is the inspiration for the series on Starz.

This is a show that had some high expectations even before it premiered, but has since gone on to be one of the network’s most popular series to date. Not only is it watched by a devoted following, but this same audience makes it one of the most-tweeted and discussed shows on all of premium cable. Comic-Con is a great venue for a little bit of reflection on filming the first season, and also news regarding how the books will be adapted moving forward. The show is heading to France for the 13-episode season 2, based mostly off of the book Dragonfly in Amber.

This has been a very busy week for Comic-Con as it is, given that we learned about some of the latest castings earlier in the week. There is no official premiere date just yet, but expect to see season 2 on the air come 2016.
