‘MasterChef’ season 6, episode 4 preview: The first Team Challenge of the season

MasterChef -Let’s face it: At this point, we are still in the process of feeling out the contestants on Fox’s “MasterChef.” It is early in the season, and there are a few who are clearly getting more in the way of airtime than others.

While the characters may be somewhat different, the format is still the same. After a Mystery Box and an Elimination Challenge, you send the contestants out into the field to work on some sort of Team Challenge. Typically, it is some sort of cookout making some seemingly-basic food for a huge crowd … and that is where the challenge lies. Also, this seemingly-basic food is not so basic when you consider that it is never just an ordinary burger or piece of chicken. Something makes it very difficult, and trying to serve a huge crowd at a rapid pace is almost the equivalent of being thrown into the first, especially if you are someone not used to it.

There was not in the promo for next week’s episode anything in particular that stood out as a huge character moment; instead, we had Gordon Ramsay understandably yelling someone for serving raw food. Also, there were a few select people shown doing a Pressure Test, but we would not necessarily take this as a sign that they are going to appear in it next week. If we were the promo department, we’d throw some fake footage in there as bait … or maybe from a future Pressure Test. You should never be able to know for sure what is coming.

Anyhow, that is the end of us filling up Fox’s suggestion box. We’ll preview this episode further in due time.
