‘Arrow’ season 3, episode 22 preview: Marching orders and bio-weapons

Every season of “Arrow,” we have a tendency to watch a story take us basically to the edge of a cliff, where one wrong move can almost ensure the destruction of Starling City as we know it. This season, it seems like that could come courtesy of the alpha and omega bio-weapon. This is something that has been set up in the Hong Kong flashbacks for some time, but finally transported to the present last week when Ra’s al Ghul made his demand: In order to prove that he is Al Sah-Him and ready to ascend to being Ra’s al Ghul, Oliver Queen must take the weapon back to his home city and completely sever ties with all that he once knew.

Much of the sneak peek below from Wednesday night’s “This Is Your Sword” feels like regurgitation, mostly because it contains information that we have already known / heard about for some time. However, there is still an interesting note at the end here courtesy of the reminder that someone had to take these weapons to Nanda Parbat, and that someone was Maseo.

The look on Oliver’s face when he realizes that it was his old friend who is responsible for bringing much of this about is a nice bit of evidence that through it all, there is still some of the old Oliver in there. The challenge for this story will be seeing just how long it takes for most of this Oliver to come out.
