‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8 finale spoilers: Sheldon, Amy kiss, Penny’s wedding talk, and more (video)

Typically, promos for “The Big Bang Theory” do not tend to reveal much other than the fact that this is the most-popular comedy on TV. However, this is definitely not the case for the upcoming finale based on the latest promo that we have just seen.

First things first, the promo begins with Sheldon and Amy kissing! These two have come a long way, and this may be the closest thing to definitive progress that we’ve seen from the two of them. Sure, we’ve noticed Jim Parsons’ character has become slightly more affectionate, but it is never on some “normal” occasion quite like we have here. There’s nothing about this scene that strikes us as an extraordinary circumstance or some bribe where she kisses him in return for a hot beverage.

Still, will there be enough progress in the relationship for Amy to be satisfied? She is not necessarily looking for an instant proposal, but she does at least want to know that she can eventually have most of what other couples have.

Also in this promo, Penny and Leonard actually contemplate getting married in Las Vegas! We’d be surprised if they actually go through with that, mostly because it feels like this is such a TV event eight years in the making that a quickie wedding would not satisfy most fans. After all, the desire instead here is to mostly see something that is much grander where you can have a variety of names from the show’s history turn up.
