‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11, episode 23 preview: Ellen Pompeo, Caterina Scorsone, and tension

The future -Tonight’s episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” was definitely unorthodox, and that is one of the easiest words that you can use to describe it. We watched many months pass, but the grieving for Meredith Grey never really became easier. She is looking for a way to stop the carousel from turning, even if she does at the same time know that this is more or less impossible.

What we are going to get a reminder of on next week’s episode, though, is a simple reminder that sometimes, it is pretty hard to do away with old skeletons and painful memories from the past. Why didn’t Amelia get a chance to say goodbye to her brother? It is a fair question, but there will not be an easy answer to it in the slightest. This is just a part of the pain and the cross that Meredith has to bear for a while moving forward. It may be great material for Ellen Pompeo and Caterina Scorsone, but hell for their characters at the same time.

What the promo below does not do is really give you any further information about the mysterious synopsis that was already released by ABC: “The doctors of Grey Sloane Memorial Hospital are forced to put their emotions aside when a catastrophic event occurs.” Yes, we are very much waiting to see just what this “catastrophic event” is, and hopefully we will get some answers to that eventually.

For now, just take a deep breath. You probably need it after tonight.
