‘Homeland’ season 5 spoilers: Claire Danes, cast will official film in Germany

See Carrie -While we first heard a while back that the upcoming fifth season of “Homeland” was going to be filming in Germany, isn’t it nice to get a little bit of confirmation on the subject? We like to think so.

As it has been reported now via Deadline, Showtime is saying that the upcoming 12-episode season will be filmed at Studio Babelsberg. This makes the show the first American one ever to film a full season in Germany. Filming will begin in June, and most likely the season will premiere at some point in late September / early October depending on whatever the network decides to do in terms of scheduling.

We have to say here that we are very excited to see what the show does in Germany, mostly because there are few other countries that are able to present this much when it comes to international flair. Think about it. We’ve seen the series film in America, but also everywhere from Morocco to South Africa to now Europe. We’re waiting now for them to go to New Zealand and Argentina in order to make it a truly global affair.

What we know about the new season is that it will feature Carrie moving on from the CIA, which now can count Saul once again as one of its members. Will she stay away forever? We have a hard time believing that. We just hope that she finds a way to have a little more of a healthy life for herself, since all the spy game seems to bring her is more pain and stress.

Then again, maybe this is wired in her, and she really knows no other way other than continue working in espionage.
