‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11, episode 16 video: Callie and Arizona’s latest awkward moment

Heartbreak is hard; we’ve seen that time and time again, and we certainly expect heartbreak to continue to be there for the stars of “Grey’s Anatomy.” The latest sneak peek for Thursday night’s new episode is proof of that.

On one level, you can certainly understand where Callie is coming from in having this romantic moment. She and Arizona are not together anymore, and at some point, you have to expect that she is going to move on and try to do something different with her life. This is precisely what she does. What she did not count on was that Arizona would end up seeing her kissing another woman. Was it a little awkward for Callie to do this somewhere that her former love happens to also work? Definitely, and we would’ve thought that through more. With that being said, the odds of her walking by this particular window and peering in are pretty slim to none.

Also, it’s not like Arizona takes a peek and then runs away. For some reason (quite possibly self-torture), she peers in and looks at the two of them for some time, ultimately until Callie catches her doing it. That’s a tricky thing to deal with, since Callie and Arizona still have to see each other regularly. There’s no avoiding the awkwardness.

Who knows? Maybe this will force the two to speak to each other more. We hardly feel like this romance for them is over, but they need to discover themselves and want they want a little more before they can really have a whole lot of a chance.
