‘The Mentalist’ season 7, episode 11 preview: Is Simon Baker’s Jane leaving Lisbon behind?

Wednesday night’s episode of “The Mentalist” not only featured a (spoiler alert!) death, but it also gave us what has to be one of the rougher cliffhangers that we have seen on the show over the past season or so. After dealing with everything related to Vega’s passing, Jane decided that he really did not want to deal with the fear of losing someone anymore, and he wanted out. He hoped that Lisbon would join him, but this not entirely assured.

Well, there are still questions about the future going into next week’s “Byzantium.” While we cannot tell you for sure why Simon Baker’s character may be choosing to stick around the FBI a while longer, the synopsis below may serve as an answer or two:

“A young man claiming to have psychic powers offers his help to the FBI in solving a pair of murders, but when he leads them to additional victims, Jane and the team begin to suspect that he is in fact the killer they’re hunting.”

Ultimately, it may be a situation here where the team really needs Jane more than they ever have before. This is a man who makes his living off of being a fake psychic, so he really should be able to use some of his powers of operation to find out this person’s true motives.

Is it possible that this killer could be the Big Bad behind the final few episodes? We definitely would not be surprised in the end if they were, but we will have to wait to find out.
