‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ review: Did Kate Gosselin survive Kenya Moore, Vivica A. Fox drama?
There has been a theme on “The Celebrity Apprentice” lately, and that has been Project Managers getting fired left and right. We even saw that in the first part of tonight’s episode, where Sig Hansen was fired for a boat-cruise desire.
The moment that Donald Trump said that tonight’s hotel-themed task was “not close,” we were worried for Kate Gosselin in a big way. After all, she was Project Manager for this task, and she made the decision to really focus on a mascot for Trump’s palace-of-sorts in Miami. We feel like this definitely rang true that this project came from a mother of eight. It was marketed very well to children, and this is probably what her worldview ultimately is at the end of the day. We don’t think she marketed to a luxurious audience at all. This was ultimately a big victory for Ian Ziering, who really only had to deal with a tiny amount of drama when Johnny Damon couldn’t delivered a golfer.
As soon as Kate lost, Kenya Moore and Vivica A. Fox, who spent much of the episode fighting, began their battling yet again. These two mostly hurt their case with their actions in this episode, when they should have been focused more on Kate than anything else.
In the end, this episode wasn’t as crazy-fun as the first one, but at least there was some good boardroom drama! We do feel like Trump made the wrong decision here in the end; while Kate did not do a great job, she also didn’t seem to be the reason why the team couldn’t get on the same page. The ending was just far too predictable, and the tradition of Project Managers being fired lives on. Grade: B-.
