‘Chicago PD’ season 2 spoilers: Sophia Bush on early stages of Lindsay – Halstead relationship
Are things different between Lindsay and Halstead on “Chicago PD” these days? That certainly seems to be a given, following the end of this past episode. The two characters hooked up right when she was starting to feel disillusioned with her new job. While technically there is no problem with them being together right now, what happens if she wants to come back to Intelligence? that is something that could become an issue down the road.
Remember here that Voight (pictured) has a tendency to frown at relationships within the unit, and there are many reasons that you can understand why. This is why Sophia Bush says, per TVLine, that her character will weigh whether or not she wants to tell Voight the truth over the course of the upcoming episodes.
Also, Bush says that one of the other primary issues at the moment for Lindsay is largely a question of whether or not the history that she and Halstead have already in their relationship is something that works to their advantage, or something that is a little bit of a hindrance:
“A relationship that starts out of a years-old friendship, obviously, is very different from one that starts because you meet someone at a bar and you go on a date,” she describes. “There is rapport. There is intimate knowledge. There’s a shorthand. I think that’s what the fans are excited about. That’s what we’re excited about exploring is how are all those things affected [or not] by this new dynamic.”
Wednesday night’s new episode will be very much themed around what happens next for these two characters; following that, we have another “Chicago Fire” crossover on the horizon!
