NBC’s ‘The Voice’ results: Was Matt McAndrew, Craig Wayne Boyd, or Chris Jamison the winner?
It was a long night, but in the end, there was only one winner for “The Voice” season 7.
So who was it? After many performances, coach montages, and reminders that everyone on this show loves each other (read more about this in our blow-by-blow-account of the finale over at this link), the end of the show eventually came, and it was finally revealed whether Matt McAndrew, Craigh Wayne Boyd, Damien, or Chris Jamison emerged as the champion this year.
Before the show, we pegged that Matt would be the champion of the season, though we also thought it would be a very close vote between him, Craig, and Chris. All three performed well on iTunes, and have shown to have a pretty devoted following on Twitter. Matt had the #1 song on the site, though, and that has to be the big advantage.
Here are the results by place.
4th – Damien. No shocker there. He had the fewest purchases on iTunes, and he was also the wild card going into this.
3rd – Chris Jamison. Also no surprise, given that he was previously in need of a save. Still, we feel like he has the best chance of a major career after the show.
2nd – Matt McAndrew. Really? We suppose that this is proof that iTunes somehow is not always the biggest indicator of who the winner is going to be.
Winner – Craig Wayne Boyd! It’s an upset! Well, sort of. The reminder here is that Blake Shelton voters are sneaky. They call and text more than any other coach’s fans, and they also only had one person to rally behind. Meanwhile, Adam has three artists. We don’t necessarily think that Craig will find much mainstream success, but he could have some hits over on country radio. Not our pick for winner, but not a terrible travesty, either.

Very interesting, as it has just started to air here. Those country voters love their folks. Not my cuppa, but whatev. Will be interested to see if The Voice finally has a real “star” emerge.
Matt was ROBBED

People tend to forget it’s not about which coach won. Seriously who the F cares about any of those coaches? It’s about the best vocal performer on the stage. Matt killed any genre he was given, meanwhile Craig stuck to country throughout the entire competition. It’s a damn shame that one sector of middle America decides to use the payphone on this night where their mob mentality decided unjustly.

Who cares about the coaches? It matters about the voice, obviously. It’s people like you who vote for the favor of the coach, instead of the actual competitor, that makes the actual winner LOSE. (Matt McAndrew) it’s okay, he doesn’t need a label from the voice. He’ll do something bigger & better.
