‘Homeland’ season 4, episode 12 (finale) spoilers: What did Carrie see in Islamabad?

“Homeland” has certainly embarked on quite a crazy journey throughout much of the fourth season, but come next Sunday, this journey is going to be coming to a close with an episode entitled “Long Time Coming.”

Want to know a little bit of what you can expect? We suppose we will start first and foremost with the official synopsis, since that is at least a small resource of how we are getting back to America:

“Season 4 ends with Carrie and Saul returning to the U.S. and investigating what she saw in Islamabad.”

Tonight’s new episode ended with a huge twist, and something that we did not see coming in any direction: Dar Adal has been working with the terrorists this entire season, at least presumably. What is the motivation here? That is something we are still trying to figure out, given that we have not seen him enough to really understand some of his plays.

With Carrie back in America, though, we feel like the focus will be on a meeting between these parties, but also a chance for her to start to get some of her family life back in order. She has just learned about the death of her father, and while she seems to be numb to some emotional matters from time to time, we would presume that this would still be a difficult thing to both hear about and then deal with.
