‘The X Factor’ UK results: Was Lauren Platt, Stevi Ritchie, or Andrea Faustini eliminated?

After the somewhat-shocking vote of Only the Young on last night’s edition of “The X Factor” UK, we found ourselves in a pretty precarious position of losing another favorite on Sunday night’s show.

Ultimately, the question going into and during the show was rather simple: Was there any way that Stevi Ritchie would be saved again if he was in the bottom two? His performance was so weird, we envisioned there being no way he would avoid being right back in the sing-off.

What we did not expect or predict was for him to be joined in jeopardy by either Lauren Platt or Andrea Faustini. These are two performers with a reputation for being excellent on the show, and neither deserve to be going anywhere until the finale in our eyes. When they were announced as the three who would have to wait until the end of the show to find out their fate, we immediately thought Lauren was going to be singing. She performed first last night, and that is never a good thing.

However, we were surprised yet again! The favorite to win the whole competition in Andrea had to sing against Stevi … and this was a bloodletting in our eyes. We love Stevi as a person and an entertainer, but he had no chance here. He did at least get a vote from Simon Cowell to stay, which was a nice gesture from his mentor as an acknowledgement of how hard he worked and sang during this last part of the show.
