‘Survivor: San Juan del Sur’ preview: Dale Wentworth puts his fake idol plan in motion

Dale -Dale Wentworth has been to us one of the most intriguing “Survivor” players almost since the very beginning of the season. He was a target from day one, and yet for one reason or another, he has found a way to persevere. Strangely, he’s done so despite two very big “Survivor” red flags in that he is not a particularly good challenge performer, and to go along with that, he also doesn’t know how to hold his tongue at camp.

Yet, the reality for Dale is this: If he can make it just one or two more weeks until the merge, he suddenly goes from an easy target to someone nobody is going to worry about. He doesn’t have any partner in the game, and other than maybe Alec, Wes, and Josh (who may be doing their own thing now), he doesn’t have any real allegiances that consider him a target.

With all of this, he is playing with fire by danging a fake hidden immunity idol, since the incentive here is fairly low. If it is all of Coyopa against him, they would surely split the vote to get rid of him. What he’d therefore have to do is use this idol to get the vote split, and then convince someone to flip on the plan and vote for the other person in the split rather than him. That is quite the tall order, especially if the votes against him are people like Missy and Baylor.

In the sneak peek below from “Survivor Live” (which was once again hosted by the extremely-polarizing Jeff Schroeder), you can see Dale bring out that fake idol that he picked up a little earlier in the season in front of Jon. If he convinces him and Jaclyn that it is better to split up the mother / daughter pair and Keith follows suit, that may be all he needs.

For those wondering, we are going to have our interview with Kelley Wentworth up soon, so be on the lookout for that at the link here alongside our other “Survivor” coverage.
