ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4, episode 3 video: Kerry Washington and a Rowan dilemma

There is something in this world known as “questions you should never ask,” and if we were Olivia Pope, one of these said questions at the moment would involve whether or not someone wants to have dinner with her and her father.

After all, we are not in a position on “Scandal” anymore where the actions of this man are a mystery to anyone. Everyone knows precisely who Rowan is, and also what he is capable of to go along with it. He’s a very dangerous man, and someone who tortures and schemes his way to the top. The last time he and Jake spent a whole lot of time together, there was a great deal of screaming and torturing.

So can we say that we are altogether shocked by the sneak peek below? We cannot. Of course Jake doesn’t want to meet Rowan and Olivia for dinner! As he makes it clear to Kerry Washington’s character, the two are not boyfriend and girlfriend, and if he was in that position, he supposes that he would be happy to oblige her on this request. However, he is not in this position, and therefore does not show even the most remote amount of interest in making it happen.

Are Olivia and Jake actually going to be a couple at some point? We suppose that it is in theory possible, but we have a hard time seeing it be a reality in the near future. Jake probably does not want to ever be in-laws to Rowan, and plus, there is still that weird thing between Olivia and Fitz. As Jake is probably aware by now, there will almost always be a weird thing going on with Olivia and Fitz.
