‘Doctor Who’ season 8, episode 6 video: Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, and ‘Caretaker’ fun

Given how little at times we have of the Doctor in what we personally believe to be the “modern” era, we are happy to be seeing “Doctor Who” this coming weekend opting to spend quite a bit of time there with “The Caretaker.”

Plus, we’ve grown to be rather fond of the Danny Pink character, and there is so much potential for seeing what happens when Clara’s two worlds ultimately collide with one another. The Doctor, for his latest mission, ends up going undercover at the school where Jenna Coleman’s character actually works for a regular job, and this leads to some interaction between him and Clara’s new squeeze. She and Danny have already had a very roller-coaster sort of relationship, and that is something that looks to continue just as much moving forward now that we have a Doctor involved. The Coal Hill school will never be the same.

Will there be drama that comes out of this? Certainly. Clara is exhausted trying to balance her professional and personal worlds, and having the Doctor around will not make that even remotely easier. Instead, the majority of her free time now may be spent cleaning up his messes, and making Danny in turn feel like he is more neglected than ever before.

What we will say for now is that in the event “Doctor Who” does decide that they want to write off the Clara character at some point so that Coleman can go on to do other things, they are setting up an interesting foundation to do so.
