‘NCIS’ season 12, episode 1 video: Watch McGee, Tony settle a debate
Who is going to accompany Gibbs on a trip to Russia? While some of the promos that are out there already about the upcoming “NCIS” premiere give away that answer, that does not make the sneak peek video below any less entertaining.
Just within this, we learn a few valuable lessons about the team. First, Bishop finds out that the last thing you ever want to do is ask for a job, and then, we learn via Tony and McGee that sometimes in the middle of a tough dispute, the only thing that you can do to settle it is engage in a tough game of rock, paper, scissors.
In addition to this, we also have a few important character updates. For example, Tony has been traveling frequently for work, while McGee has been visiting Delilah in Dubai. for those of you desperate to see Margo Harshman back on the show (we’re right there with you), this should be music to your ears to learn that the two characters are still together. This scene also plants the seed further that we will meet Bishop’s husband Jake at some point, but that probably will not be until at least November, given that the character has not been cast. Ironically, some of the things we were expecting this season to happen (which also includes meeting another Gibbs ex) will not be taking place within the first batch of episodes. The show seems to have some other plans in store.

So Tony is the butt of the joke again as McGee wins at rock paper scissors. This scene kind of blows a hole in the theory that the reason Gibbs NEVER takes Tony on his exciting danger filled story arcs abroad is because he trusts Tony to hold down the fort. Now we know that the writers simply don’t want Tony feature or shine in any of the most significant action packed episodes. He hasn’t gone with Gibbs in 5 seasons when he was portrayed as the butt monkey incompetent in South by Southwest. Once again Tony is sidelined so Gibbs and either McGee or the female agent can be cast in the exciting episodes. Sucks to be a Tony fan.

Not lately. Tony hasn’t been on a mission with Gibbs, who gets all the big danger filled episodes in 5 seasons. It was always McGee, Ziva, or Bishop. Tony spent years being used to prop up the constant Ziva dramas and being the mocked and disrespected team member for the humor portion of the show. If you weren’t a tiva fan, it has really sucked to be a Tony fan. I doubt that they’re really interested in giving Tony anything exciting. It might take the limelight off of Gibbs and now apparently McGee is far more interesting to highlight.

Well, it sucked to be a McGee Fan too. As I said McGee was the one, who was always glued to his desk. It’s about time, that he get’s something to do.
I haven’t seen every Season 11 Episode (we are behind in Germany) but Tony had a lot of Storylines in S 11: Episode 11.01, 11.02, 11.05, 11.16 & 11.23.
