‘Saturday Night Live’: Sarah Silverman, Bill Hader to host; Maroon 5, Hozier to perform

More news -Saturday Night Live” has wasted very little time when it comes to making their full roster of upcoming talent clear, and it apparently includes everyone from a comedy icon to a recent former cast member as hosts.

You likely know by now that the season premiere in just over a week (September 27) features Chris Pratt as host, and Ariana Grande as a musical guest. Meanwhile, the show on October 4 is now confirmed to feature Sarah Silverman and musical guest Maroon 5. This is a return to the series for Silverman, who was actually a part of it back in the early 1990s just just 18 weeks. She was fired as a writer / performer, but definitely has not let that define her career.

The following week, we’re going to have a return of arguably one of the best “SNL” performers in the past twenty years in Bill Hader, along with musical guest Hozier. We don’t feel like we will see Stefon again (that should only happen when Seth Meyers is around), but what we will say is that the success of this one great character should not overshadow the fact that Hader has done countless other great sketches on the show over the years.

Hopefully, the presence of all these great comedy performers at the start of the season will allow this season to start with some momentum. After all, last season was largely criticized for being a transition year, and this one has the challenge of being the first full one without Meyers around.
