‘Survivor: San Juan del Sur’ castaway spotlight. Can Drew Christy match his brother?
Our “Survivor: San Juan del Sur” castaway spotlight series continues today with the brother of yesterday’s feature, but we have to say straight out of the gate here that Alec Christy seems better built on paper to succeed in this game than his brother Drew does.
What’s going on with Drew? What we seem to have a case here of is a guy who seems to know that he’s very intuitive, good-looking, and capable of doing well in this game. Basically, he thinks that he is the most awesome person known to mankind. Drew has an ego, and it is something that could get him in trouble in this game.
Name – Drew Christy
Age – 25
Occupation – Traveling salesman / model (unusual combination)
Location – Winter Park, Florida
Strengths – The biggest one in here should be obvious: He should be strong in challenges. He’s also probably a pretty persuasive guy when it comes to getting what he wants, and even though he may not be looking to romance anyone in Nicaragua, it still wouldn’t shock us at all if he could use some charm to influence the ladies in the game.
Weaknesses – There really doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of self-awareness here, and Drew comes across as the sort of guy who thinks that he is running the show, when in reality someone else is and he’s just the figurehead, waiting to be voted out as soon as there is a tribal council. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of game knowledge here, and if he and his brother both make it to the merge, they’re targets.
Past “Survivor” comparison – Think basically Tyson and Coach in “Survivor: Tocantins” form, rolled into one person. He compares himself to Fabio or Malcolm, but he doesn’t seem to be anywhere near as much fun. He takes himself almost as serious as Garrett did last season.
Prediction – The thing about these pre-season spotlights is that we’re just judging them based on the material CBS has put out there. You can see in his bio that there is a fun-loving spirit within him, but will he relax enough to let that out? We feel like he is probably going to try and play too hard, too fast, and be taken out pretty early in the game.
