‘Mistresses’ season 2, episode 13 (finale) spoilers: Joss gets a wedding surprise

We know that Joss is currently engaged on “Mistresses” season 2, but could she be going from getting engaged to actually being married in record time?

Well, she is certainly going to be blindsided with the offer of an almost-instant marriage in the sneak peek below from Monday’s season finale. Given that she has already been having more than a few doubts, this could cause trouble … big trouble. It could even cause her to bolt in the end.

Granted, you don’t see all of that happening in the sneak peek below, but would you really? We’re voting “doubtful” for that. The show wants to keep some things a surprise, which should not come as a shock given that this is the time when shows really like to bust out some of these said surprises.

Personally, what we care about more than whether or not Joss actually gets married is whether or not this relationship could prohibit her in the long-term from being involved with all of the other juicy storylines on the show. We don’t fall under those who believe that the characters of “Mistresses” need to all be mistresses in order for the show to work … but it does help when it comes to keeping things really interesting on a superficial level. If they want to go in a much bolder direction, they certainly can … but it will take much more planning on their part to ensure that they have the right story, and the scripts to ensure that things never come apart at the seams.
