‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: Robert Pattinson’s sister Lizzy reportedly auditions

If Lizzy Pattinson has it her way, her brother Rob may no longer be the only famous member of their family.

According to the Mirror, the sister of the former “Twilight” star is one of many who auditioned for the new season of “The X Factor,” and she even did enough to advance to the round at Wembley. If the show is using the same format as last season, then that means she at least made it through the first stage of the competition in the audition room.

Is Lizzy a complete unknown to the music scene? Not entirely, given that she does have some experience performing at a variety of different gigs. Also, there’s the other wrinkle here that she will get serious support immediately if she makes it through to the live rounds.

This is a similar experience in a way to when Jim Carrey’s daughter Jane chose to try out for “American Idol,” and we worried extensively about fairness being thrown out the window if she advanced to the live rounds. These sort of people have built-in audiences, and there is no avoiding that.

In the end, though, we just hope that if Lizzy is good enough, she makes it far, and if not, she is sent home. While sometimes singers do last longer than they should, there are very few times in which we can remember someone actually winning a competition thanks to preexisting fame. Sooner or later, they do have to prove themselves.
