‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7 spoilers: More details on run time, Charlie Hunnam story
When “Sons of Anarchy” season 7 premieres on FX come Tuesday, September 9, you better hope that you don’t have to get up early the next morning. It’s either that or you better hope that you have some free space saved up in your DVR.
Per a report from Entertainment Weekly, the show’s first episode back is going to clock in at a massive 105 minutes, including commercial breaks. This is longer than the majority of the extended episodes that the show has put out previously, but it’s hard to be shocked by it. This is frequently a show that goes over its 60 minutes originally allotted, and this is also a show entering its final season. If there is a lot of ground for creator Kurt Sutter and the writers to cover, they will take however long that they need in order to take sure that it happens. (Plus, are you really going to complain about getting more of a good thing?)
As for some other news, this episode is going to pick up ten days after the events of the season 6 finale, which saw the death of Tara and Jax making a big decision for the future. Charlie Hunnam’s Jax will be in prison when the premiere begins, and it is here that he will meet Marilyn Manson’s character for the first time.
Given that the idea of spending the entire season with Jax behind bars is enormously depressing, we imagine that he will have to have found a way to get himself out of there at some point. The question is when … and how. Go use your imagination! That’s what we will be doing for the next little while.
