‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: More on Elizabeth Mitchell’s character
We know that “Frozen” is coming to the world of “Once Upon a Time,” but where does this leave Elizabeth Mitchell? At the moment, her character’s role is extremely shrouded in mystery … but that can change in the near future.
For the time being, the one definitive thing that we know about the former “Lost” star is that she will be tied in some way to the same world as Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff. There are some theories out there, and based on the wording in a recent Entertainment Weekly magazine piece, it sounds like two of the leading possibilities for her role are either the original Snow Queen, or the mother to Anna and Elsa who was previously presumed dead in the movie.
Personally, we’d be okay with whatever allows Mitchell to have a significant role on the show for at least a little while. Showrunners Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz are completely spoiling us with riches right now when it comes to this group. After all, we’ve had the luxury of seeing Jorge Garcia, Rebecca Mader, and Emilie de Ravin in pretty strong roles on this show already, and Naveen Andrews obviously had a big part of his own over on the “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” spin-off. That show was revealed earlier this week at TCA to be one of the biggest regrets that ABC head Paul Lee had about the past season; he wishes that he had just placed the show in between the fall and spring halves of the flagship show.
