‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: Meet the mysterious Sarah

To this point, much has been secret about the upcoming sixth season of “The Vampire Diaries,” but we can at least start to creep open the door a little bit when it comes to one aspect of what lies ahead: New characters.

Per a new report from Deadline, relatively-unknown actress Gabrielle Walsh has scored a nice recurring role on the Atlanta-based series as Sarah, a newcomer to Mystic Falls who is not going to be in any way what she seems on the surface. She is ambitious, full of life experience, but also acts a little like she has something to hide.

We might as well go ahead and talk about the possibility that she is a love interest for another character on the show, mostly thanks to the fact that the thought probably crossed your mind in the first place. the truth is just that the majority of new characters end up being tied to someone eventually, and there are a number of interesting possibilities present here. While we don’t feel like Jeremy would do anything so quickly after Bonnie “died,” you can never be too sure; meanwhile, it’s been a good while since Matt has had anyone to romance, and by that we mean around a season or so given that he did have the little fling with Rebekah.

Still, to us the larger question is this: If you were a character on this show, why in the world would you even want to trust someone coming into Mystic Falls? Don’t you know already that there a lot of people up to no good? We’d take a few deep breaths before we even considered letting someone in, even if that someone on the surface looked like they were capable of good.
