‘The X Factor’ notes: Fifth Harmony’s ‘Bo$$’ video, Alex & Sierra’s upcoming Q&A

The latest -Just in case your purse is so heavy and you want to get Oprah dollars, we have just the thing for you today: The official music video for Fifth Harmony’s new single “Bo$$.”

Pretty much from start to finish in here, you get a sense that the former “X Factor” contestants are very much interested in shedding that bubblegum pop image that they had with “Miss Movin’ On” or “Me and My Girls” in favor of something much more R&B. There are moments of high fashion in here, tighter dance moves, and also a much darker color palette than what we had with the group’s first two videos.

Even with all of this being said, we feel like the message of this video (as shown in lettering throughout) is similar to what the group has done so far: Be yourself, and don’t be afraid to make big statements to show yourself as a strong, powerful person. Don’t let anyone be your boss (this time without those dollar signs) other than you.

Given that this is a very different hook and style than what the ladies have done so far, we are interested in seeing how this fares on pop radio.

Other news – Want to chat with Alex & Sierra? The “Scarecrow” singers are still in a promo tour of their own getting ready for their upcoming music video release, and they have a Q&A coming up on their official Facebook page Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time. So get some of your questions ready now!

Just as you would expect, we’ll take a deeper look at their video when it is released, so keep your eyes open for that in the days ahead.
