‘Big Brother 16’ houseguest spotlight: Will Jocasta Odom preach her way to victory?

Jocasta -Jocasta Odom is a very interesting cast for “Big Brother,” given that the last person you expect to see in this house is a minister. Maybe she can help to cleanse the place of evil spirits or something while she fights to win the grand prize in the end.

There is the potential for her to be an entertaining character, and also represent a different sort of person than we traditionally have. With that being said, there is also potential here for plenty of fighting and drama between her and some of the other houseguests, and this is definitely an issue worth watching out for as we get a couple of weeks into the game.

Name – Jocasta Odom

Age – 33

Location – Lovejoy, Georgia

Occupation – Minister

Strengths – She says that she can tone down her religion talk in the house, which is good given that there are some non-religious people there and also a very religious Jewish person. You don’t want to ruffle feathers in that sense. She is a social chameleon and can find ways to fit in across many different subjects, and challenge-wise she will probably not be a threat for much of the game.

Weaknesses – If someone starts bashing Christians, she may be faced with a crisis that she cannot ignore. Also, being a preacher basically means that there is a certain moral standing you have to keep, and she may be on guard somewhat for that. We don’t see her getting along too well with some of the youngest contestants, or some of the aggressive guys who are more interested in working out than talking.

Past houseguest comparison – Andrew Gordon (the US one) is an interesting link given that he was one of the older contestants on his season and also had very strong religious beliefs that made him stand out further. Her strategy of trying to fit in sounds a little like Shelly Moore, minus some of the things that got her hated by Big Jeff fans.

Prediction – We want to see someone like Jocasta go into this game and completely knock our expectations for how she will do completely on their butt. Unfortunately, we don’t think it is going to happen for her. It’s not so much because of her job as it is that we just cannot see her relating to many of the other players. There are only a few other southerners in the house, and her personality doesn’t seem like a great fit. She may be able to get pretty far if she’s lucky, but probably will not win.
